Introducing Aromatherapy in Palliative Care
Introducing Aromatherapy in Palliative Care is an intensive 2-day programme suitable for anyone who is a Healthcare or Allied-health professional looking to enhance the quality-of-life of those in their care.
The programme begins with a global overview of how aromatherapy is used within Hospice & palliative care settings. This is followed by a closer look at what essential oils & botanical hydrosols are and the common methods of extraction.
Importantly, issues of essential oil/hydrosol safety, toxicity and storage are covered in depth.
Profiles of 8 essential oils which are suitable for use within this area are discussed in detail.
Several practical sessions explore the art of essential oil blending suitable for the palliative care setting using aromatic inhalation and dermal absorption methods.
Finally, participants will make 2 personalised blends to take home. Additionally, comprehensive notes are provided.
