The art of essential oil blending
“Blending is one of the most enjoyable aspects of aromatherapy. It can become a very enjoyable hobby”.
Marcel Lavabre, Botanical distiller
Blending essential oils is the most creative part of aromatherapy. It requires an in-depth knowledge of the essential oils gained from a good familiarity & connection with aromatic plant material.
The art of essential oil blending is a half-day workshop designed to build on the basic blending skills taught in Carol Rose’s “Introducing Aromatherapy”. Participants will learn how to develop their ‘odour memory’ through aromatic plant material, discovering their unique aromas and experiencing their effects. Simple blending techniques & practical tips will be covered including an introduction to the concept of essential oil synergy. Practical sessions will include formulating essential oils, creating synergies and making 1 aromatic blend to take home. Comprehensive notes will be provided.
Pre-requisite for this workshop includes:
Carol Rose’s “Introducing Aromatherapy” workshop or evidence of an equivalent level of study.
